Minors

Minor in Criminal Justice

Students may earn a minor in Criminal Justice Studies.

The minor consists of 15 hours of upper-division coursework with at least 12 of the 15 hours taken in residence.

There are two required courses for the minor: POLS 3600 Criminal Justice Administration and SOCI 3810 Criminology. These two courses are usually restricted registration. Minors should contact the Sociology department for information about access to SOCI 3810. Minors should contact the Criminal Justice Studies Program at caelch@uga.edu for information about access to POLS 3600.

To preserve the interdisciplinary nature of the program of study, no more than six hours of coursework may be drawn from the same discipline (as indicated by departmental prefix).

Students should be aware that some classes have introductory pre-requisites (i.e. PSYC 1101; SOCI 1101; POLS 1101)
